Gospel of Thomas

His disciple asked him and said to him, “do you want us to fast, how should we pray? Should we give to charity? What diet should we observe?”

Jesus said, “do not lie, and do not do what you hate, because all things are disclosed before heaven.  For there is nothing hidden that will not be revealed, and there is nothing covered that will remain undisclosed”.

The disciples said to Jesus, “Tell us how our end will be.”

Jesus said, “Have you discovered the beginning, then, so that you are seeking the end? For where the beginning is, the end will be. Blessed is one who stands at the beginning: that one will know the end and will not taste death”

His disciples said, “When will you appear to us and when shall we see you?”

Jesus said, “When you strip without being ashamed and you take your clothes and put then under your feet like little children and trample them, then you will see the child of the living one and you will not be afraid.

Jesus – for this reason I say, if one is whole, one will be filled with light, but if one is divided, one will be filled with darkness.

Jesus – there is a rich person who had a great deal of money.  He said, “I shall invest my money so that I may sow, reap, plant, and fill my storehouses with produce, that I may lack nothing,” These were the things he was thinking in his heart, but that very night he died.  Whoever has ears should hear.

Jesus – one who knows everything but lacks in oneself lacks everything.

When you make two into one, you will become children of humanity.

Gospel of Mary

All natures, all formed things, all creatures exist in and with each other, and they will dissolve into their own root.  The nature of matter is dissolved into the root of its nature.

Peace be with you.  Receive my peace.  Be careful that no one leads you astray by saying “look here” or “look there”.  The child of humanity is within you.  Follow that.  Those who seek it will find it. 

If your leader says to you, “Look, the kingdom is in heaven,” then the birds of heaven will precede you.  If they say to you, “it is in the sea,” then the fish will precede you.  Rather, the kingdom is inside you and it is outside you.

If you know yourself, then you will be known, and you will understand that you are children of the living father.  But if you do not know yourselves, then you dwell in poverty, and you are poverty.

I am the light that is over all things.  I am all.  From me all has come forth, and to me all has reached.  Split a piece of wood, I am there.  Lift up a stone, and you will find me there.

Prayer to the Father – you are the thought and supreme serenity of those who are alone…

In truth, fear is the power of darkness.  So if you are afraid of what is about to come upon you, it will overwhelm you, and not one among them will spare you or show you mercy.  Rather, look at what is within, since you have mastered every word on earth.  This will take you up to a place where there is no dominion and no tyrant…. Reflection is ….where truth is …. Make what is inside you and what is outside you a single one. 

Creation of the world – there was darkness and water, and spirit upon water.  And I tell you the truth, look, what you seek and inquire about is within you, and it has the power and mystery of the spirit, for it is from the spirit.

All things are hidden from one who does not know the root of all things

Whoever does not know the root of wickedness is no stranger to it

Gospel of Philip

A slave seeks only to be free and does not seek the master’s estate.

For a child it is not enough to be a child, but a child claims the father’s inheritance.

Truth brought forth names in the world for us, and no one can refer to truth without names.  Truth is one and many, for our sakes, to teach us about the one, in love, through the many.
